Sapir Academic College

Sapir College has become a leading, large-scale academic institute recognized by the Council for Higher Education. 9,000 students currently attend the college and chose to study a degree from a diverse range of facultiess. Sapir College serves as a regional hub of culture, high-tech and education, attracting students and lecturers from all over the country.

Several annual conferences and events are organized and take place in Sapir Academic College:
o The Sderot Conference for Society – annual event bringing together political and economic experts to discuss relevant social issues and conflicts.
o The Film Festival of the South – an international film festival organized by the School of Audio and Visual Arts.

In October 2017, the “Sapir Media Lab” (SML) will be lunched with the cooperation with the Cisco digitization program. The SML will build effective interdisciplinary teams of students to work on DH projects that will integrate digital media tools in the fields of humanities, social sciences, arts and education. For example, digitization of heritage materials preserved in the Negev, as well as building platforms to provide access. The SML will perform as a working environment for workshops, hackathons, teaching and learning DH programs and mentoring innovative ideas of students.

Dr. Hanan Maoz

Dr. Hanan Maoz is a senior lecturer in Sapir Academic College in the faculty of Technology-Marketing and in Tel-Aviv University at the Industrial Engineering Department. Dr. Maoz is the head of the international Programs Office in Sapir Academic College leading a wide range of educational initiatives and services for students, lecturers and the community. Dr. Maoz’s main academic research focuses on Management of ICT, including applied research in Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Applications, Cloud Computing, Software Investments and ICT for Education. During the past few years, Dr. Maoz initiated Industry-Academic-Circles in Israel and Europe, to build new international curricula and research, based on constructive approaches with distance –Learning activities.

Mrs. Ayelet Calaf-Mazuz

Mrs. Ayelet Calaf-Mazuz

Mrs. Ayelet Calaf-Mazuz holds a BA. In Technology and Marketing with a wide range of understanding and experience in organizational behavior and international projects. Her main interest is to utilize educational efforts on how skilled people with diverse backgrounds and cultural values can work together effectively and efficiently in a social technology communicated world. Ayelet’s international projects experiences have acquired her with certain skills, such as practicing and applying how distance learning models and tools can enable interaction among groups in international HEI projects.
